ELECTIONS ONLY CREATE DIVISIONS
The divisions that resulted from the process of holding the general election until the completion of the general election resulted in the impact of divisions that could be felt and seen directly. These divisions occur due to differences of opinion due to siding with different candidates, the campaign process carried out by the candidates also adds to the divisions in various regions. The presidential and vice presidential debates are also the reason for the divisions because the candidates try to bring each other down so that their supporters also participate in influencing each other to side with the candidates.
The resulting divisions certainly have impacts that greatly affect society, because these divisions occur in every circle, from young to old. Instead of being a momentum to learn to accept differences, this election has become an escalation of hostility. This election situation is not born from the maturity of candidates and supporters who use all means to attract voters' sympathy.
Candidates and their supporters are also one of the factors in this division. Candidate supporters use all means to attract the attention of voters, including using property to give to voters to vote for the chosen candidate. Disturbing campaigns are experienced by everyone from walls or fences of houses being given stickers or banners that do not have permission from the homeowner, installation of party flags mounted on every available sidewalk is a nuisance for pedestrians and an eyesore because it covers most of the neighborhood. The excessive campaigning of supporters is very disturbing by circling a city or an area, producing commotion and polluting the environment with the garbage produced, even worse, destroying existing facilities.
It is hoped that all parties involved will nourish the public space with peaceful campaigns and positive political narratives. Both by the organizers, Election Participants, including the community, including in a small scope is the family, working together to bring the 2024 Election even better. General elections should have a podifferentsitive impact on everyone, instead of being a place for disputes and antagonizing because of views and choices.
The divisive nature of the election process, exacerbated by aggressive campaigning tactics and hostile debates, has created deep rifts within society, spanning across all age groups and social circles. Instead of fostering tolerance and understanding, the election has become a battleground of animosity, driven by candidates and their supporters vying for power at any cost. Moving forward, it is imperative for all stakeholders to prioritize peaceful campaigning and constructive political discourse, aiming to transform future elections into opportunities for unity and positive societal development.
